Williams Arena Gets A New Name

MINNEAPOLIS, MN—A sign of the times means a new sign on Williams Arena on the University of Minnesota campus.  On Friday, University officials announced a ten year partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield that renames the arena “The Barn by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota.”  The arena had been known as Williams Arena since 1950, when it was named in honor of Henry L. Williams.  He coached football at Minnesota from 1900 to 1921 and led the Gophers to eight conference championships.
