Update On Red River Flooding At Halstad
HALSTAD, MN—R&J Broadcasting’s Jim Birkemeyer spoke with Halstad Utility Superintendent Lucas Spaeth on the flooding situation in Halstad.
Here’s what the National Weather Servicer was reporting for flood water levels as of 9:30 am Wednesday. The Red River at Halstad was at 29.66 feet, with flood stage at 26 feet. The Red is expected to reach an expected crest of 37 feet next Tuesday, April 25.
The Wild Rice River at Hendrum is at 28.36 feet, with flood stage at 20 feet. The expected peak of 31 feet is expected early next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Marsh River near Shelly has receded to 17.4 feet–still above flood stage (14 feet). The Marsh is expected to drop below flood stage Thursday night (April 20).
