Voyageurs Season Ends with High Hopes – 3 Freshmen Make All-MCAC

On the Rainy River campus, the Voyageurs Men’s Basketball team were in Anoka Ramsey for the 2024-2025 Region XIII Tournament Friday night. Sadly their season came to an end against their Quarterfinal opponent Ridgewater with a final score of 87-72. Israel Barnett would lead the Voyageur’s scoring with 23 points, Braedon Gomez had 13, and Samuel Jideofor scored 11 in the losing effort. Rodney Mozard got 15 rebounds as Rainy River ended their season 10-2 in conference and 17-10 overall.

There was also a recent announcement of the MCAC All-Division and All-MCAC teams, and the Rainy River Voyageurs had numerous nominees for both. In the North for All-Division players selected from Rainy River it would be Braedon Gomez, Rodney Mozard, Samuel Jideofor, and Austin Howe.

Braedon, Rodney, and Austin would also be the three Voyageurs selected for All-MCAC as Rodney Mozard and Austin Howe would also be selected for the All-Defensive Team.
