Wake The Lakes Moron Lawbreaker for the Week: “Florida leaves debit card on counter of convenience store he broke into”
A Florida man was arrested for breaking into a gas station convenience store after cops found his debit card left behind by the cash register. Police in Palm Coast responded to the store after its alarm went off in the middle of the night. They arrived to find the front door unlocked and a debit card belonging to Lantz Kurtz. They reviewed the surveillance footage, which showed the man breaking into the store from the back, stealing some items, and then unlocking the front door and leaving. Cops recognized the man as someone they had seen earlier in the night around a car fire. They questioned Kurtz and he admitted to breaking into the convenience store. As for the debit card, Kurtz told cops that he left it behind on purpose because he planned to come back and pay for the items he took. Unfortunately for him, leaving the debit card behind did not undue the crime of burglary and he was arrested and later released on $10,000 bond.
