Juvenile Paid With Pot For Babysitting

Two individuals are facing charges in Scottsville, Kentucky after being accused of giving a minor marijuana in exchange for watching their children. The Scottsville Police Department says it received a call on Aug. 18 to respond to Court Street to assist the Department for Community Based Services regarding a juvenile hired to watch three children while the children’s parents were at work.  Police say the juvenile had been living with Trever L. Johnson, 34, and Amber E. Caldwell, 30, of Scottsville.  Instead of payment for watching the children, police say the adults gave the juvenile marijuana as a form of payment. They were charged with an unlawful transaction with a minor.  A charge of human trafficking (forced labor of a victim under the age of 18) was also added later following an investigation on Oct. 2 by a Scottsville Police Department detective.  Johnson and Caldwell remain at the Allen County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
