Wednesday Flood Update
Good news for the people in Hendrum. Water levels on the Wild Rice River have been declining rapidly in the last 24 hours. As of 3:30 Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service says the Wild Rice is just under 25 feet….with flood stage at 20 feet. The Wild Rice is expected to get back below flood stage next Wednesday, May 3.
Meanwhile, the Red River at Halstad is receding at a slower rate. This afternoon it was measured at 32.6 feet…over six feet above flood stage. The Red River at Halstad will continue to recede slowly.
And the Sandhill River at Climax has now dropped to 19 feet…that’s a foot below flood stage. The Sandhill is predicted to continue receding.
