Wild Rice Watershed Lobbies at the Capitol
St. Paul, MN — The Wild Rice Watershed District was well represented at the state capitol last week while lobbying for important projects and legislation. Tara Jensen, Wild Rice Watershed District Administrator, joined several other watersheds from across the state in attending committee hearings and visiting with lawmakers in St. Paul. Notably, Jensen said they had some good conversations with Minnesota Ag Commission Thom Peterson about water retention policy.
Jensen says they also lobbied for funding to get a jumpstart on their flood protection project in Perley as well.
District 4 State Senator Kent Eken also provided Jensen a tour of the capitol building.
