Winter Kill Affecting MN Lakes

It’s the opening weekend of fishing season in Minnesota.  At DNR Fisheries, they’re concerned not only about the live ones we hope to catch, but fish that also died in the winter kill.  Nathan Olson with DNR Fisheries in Detroit Lakes says he hasn’t seen a winter kill like this before.

What causes winter kill?
