With Independence Day this weekend, Firework safety should be at the top of mind 

Independence Day Weekend has arrived, and SAFE Kids Grand Forks are encouraging people to make sure they are prioritizing firework safety. Carma Hansen of SAFE Kids Grand Forks says the best firework safety practice is to leave them to the professionals. 

Hansen says fireworks of all sizes can cause injuries to children, and she explains the most common injuries caused by fireworks. 

On average, there are approximately 20 to 30 firework related injuries in Minnesota each year.
