2024 Bronco Hall of Fame recap
This past Saturday was the 2024 Bronco Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which was held in the Backus auditorium, and we saw 3 alumni, a former coach, and 2 teams. Those Inductees were:
Craig Dahl, who played in the following sports.
He was a six-time letter winner for the Broncos, and he had this to say about being back in the Falls.
I then asked him about his life after high school.
He then talked about the honor of being inducted.
The next Inductee was David Laurion, an eight-time letter winner for the Broncos. I had also asked him the feeling of being back in International Falls.
He had high praises to give out when talking about the sports he played.
David Laurion would also share his life after graduation, which had some impressive accolades.
Congratulations on the retirement, and the next inductee was Howard Nevanen who was a ten-time letter winner. He had the following to say about being back in this neck of the woods.
I had asked him about his favorite memory from the team and he answered the following.
He was another inductee with an impressive accolade after graduating High School.
Then the next inductee was Bruce Schmidt who was not a player but rather a coach from 1976 to 1999 for both Football and Track & Field.
The First of the teams that was nominated was the Girls 1992 4×800 Relay team that were Iron Range champs, Sub-Section 27A Champs, Section 7A Champs, and Class A State Runner-ups.
The next team nominated was the 1992 Girls Cross Country team who were Iron Range Champs, Section 7A Champs, and State Champs.
I got to talk to Jennifer Mckeeman (now Clark) who was a runner on the team who was rather excited to be back.
She was then asked about her favorite memory.
Although, she wasn’t an International Falls native as she had actually moved to the Falls in 1991.
She also shared some praise for the coach who had convinced her to join the team.
I then asked her if she was able to talk to any of her former teammates from that team.
Then, she shared who she had brought with.
Happy belated birthday to Shawn, and congrats to all of the inductees.
