Job Fair Bustling!

Tuesday, May 7th, Community Ed had held it’s Job Fair in the FHS Gym where it was packed with numerous booths showcasing a wide variety of career opportunities from the trades to even the medical field.

Kris Foss, the Chief Talent Officer at Rainy Lake Medical Center, is one of the very many representatives at her booth with very extensive experience within their field as she says

There were also plenty of opportunities that are waiting for these students as Christina Kerry and Cindy Tomczak of Koochiching Health Services lets us know.

Another career field that is under high demand, as stated by Garrett Niska the account manager at UHL Company, are jobs in the trade. In fact, Niska is a huge advocate for trade jobs.

A personal favorite for many might have been the booth ran by these three ladies, and their canine assistant.

Jacks, the dog who joined them at their booth, likely had the best day ever because of all the attention he got.

There was also a table set up for DNR, and with the seasons changing, Ben West was at the table to promote the forestry division that could always use more bodies.

A great aspect of the job fair was how informative they all were, like Joel Jasmer of the Minnesota Rural Water Association.

The students can guarantee a friendly face at each table, I even had the ask a couple students what the best part of the Job Fair was. And Hendrix Torgerson and Ezekiel Homer had this to say.

As mentioned earlier, there were also plenty of students from Littlefork-Big Falls who made the trip over to make it to the fair. One such student was Levi Heppner, who primarily showed interest in a couple of the trade tables as he talks about what he thought was the best part as well as what caught his eye about the two jobs.

The best way to describe the job fair was, successful given the large crowd it brought in and the variety of career paths introduced to the students of both International Falls and Littlefork-Big Falls
