Harvest Moon Festival Lands in Top 10 Best Fall Festivals
For the second year in a row, USA Today selected the Ely Chamber of Commerce’s Harvest Moon Festival
as one of the top 20 contenders for best fall festival. The public votes for their top pick and can vote
once per day.
Last year the event did not receive enough votes to slide into the top 10 winners circle. This year, the public came out and voted and yes, the Harvest Moon Festival slid into tenth place. To get the word out Chamber staff posted the voting link on social media and had signage at each of Whiteside Park’s entrances during the festival.
“We even had the staff at the Frozen Tundra in our Harvest Moon food court encouraging people to vote for the festival – they apparently did a fantastic job,” said Kristen Switajewski, festival coordinator.

- Jack Pine Glass Pumpkin Festival
- Seven Springs Autumnfest
- Fall for Greenville
- Trailing of the Sheep Festival
- Silver Lake Sand Dunes Apple and BBQ Festival
- Warrens Cranberry Festival
- Verona Fall Fest
- Harvest Moon Festival
“Kristen took on the festival coordinator role in 2023. She has done a phenomenal job of promoting the
festival to both exhibitors and the public. She has offered fresh new ideas, and both our Harvest Moon
and Blueberry Art festivals have benefited significantly,” said Eva Sebesta, executive director.
“We are so excited to place in the top 10,” said Kristen. “This will really help further promote our fall
festival, which has plenty of room to grow.”
