Talk with DNR’s Phil Talmage about Walleye Bag Limit Change

The Minnesota D-N-R is floating a proposal that would reduce the statewide walleye possession limit from six to four fish. We decided to reach out to Phil Talmage of the International Falls DNR Fishery, and ask him about this legislature. With a focus on if it’ll effect the waters closest to the Borderland

This new legislature has been brought up before, and discussed for years now.

Phil was then asked if the reduction from six to four walleye will be an extreme difference in bag limit for the fishermen.

This new legislature, if it goes through, would be put in place for the 2027 walleye season.
