Ada Borup West School Forest Update
In late 2024, it was announced that the Ada Borup West School would be partnering with the Wild Rice Watershed District, with the hope to bring a school forest program to the Ada Borup West School District. However, since then progress on establishing has been slow. During her latest appearance on the KRJB Kaleidoscope, Tara Jensen of the Wild Rice Watershed District provided an update on where things stand with the program.
A school forest is an outdoor classroom, where students can learn a number of different subjects including math, art, science, language arts, and social studies while gaining an appreciation and awareness for Minnesota’s natural resources. Other area schools with school forests include the Waubun, and Nevis School Districts.
