The Ada Borup West School Board had ongoing discussions regarding their budget at Tuesday morning’s board meeting, as the school will likely see some deficit spending years if things in the Minnesota Legislature don’t change soon. Ada Borup West Superintendent Aaron Cook talks more about their current budget situation, and why they’re seeking more funding from the State of Minnesota.

As for how this will affect the district in 2026/2027, Cook says they will likely be deficient spending.

Cook says deficient spending for next year isn’t coming as a surprise, as they have been slowly preparing for this the last couple of years.

Other items from Tuesday’s meeting included staff hirings, administrative reports, and a discussion on class sizes.
