Clearbrook Child Chosen for Times Square Presentation

3-year old Emi Schaffer is about to make her Times Square big debut this Saturday, September
12th after being selected as one of the 500 photos from across the United States to appear in
the National Down Syndrome Society’s annual Times Square video presentation that takes
place prior to the NYC Buddy Walk through Central Park. Schaffer is a preschooler from
Clearbrook, Minnesota who has down syndrome and her photo was chosen from more than
2,700 entries from people hoping to have their photo featured at the event.

The video presentation and Buddy Walk have been staples of the National Down Syndrome
Society’s advocacy for down syndrome in the United States since 1995 and the event is
currently the most widely-recognized public awareness program for down syndrome in the
world. Each year the event draws participants from coast to coast to the big apple to support the
cause and raise awareness and this year the event will feature one of Clearbrook’s own

The video will play for one hour prior to the walk, from 8:30am-9:30am local ET and the Buddy
Walk will follow at 10am ET. The video will also stream live on facebook at 7:30am here in the
