FSA Deputy Director discusses Farm Bill
It’s been eight years since Congress has passed a Farm Bill, and with the farm program expiring at the end of the month, time to pass a new bill is running out. But what will happen at the local level if a new deal isn’t reached by the end of the month? During a panel at the Big Iron Farm Show FSA Deputy Director Jared Hagert was asked this question, and this was his response.
While the desire is a new bill, Hagert said that there is a possibility of another extension.
If a new bill is passed, then comes the time of its implementation, and Hagert is confident that items in a potential bill would have an accelerated implementation.
