Breast Cancer Risk Factors We Can & Can’t Change

Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among American women, after skin cancer.  Tammy Carlsrud of Norman Mahnomen Public Health says there are some risk factors in getting breast cancer that a person can’t change—with the first one being gender.

Carlsrud says there are some risk factors that we can change.

Breast cancer also accounts for 30 percent of all new cancer diagnoses in women.  With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, women are encouraged to check themselves regularly and get screened for breast cancer.
