The Haunted Woods Are Ready to Give a Fright to Visitors This Halloween Season
Starting Wednesday, the McTavish Haunted Woods is open. It’s a walk-through trail that gives frights and fun to those who walk through. It’s free to participate in. The experience has two levels. A soft scare and a hard scare. Mike Wilson, the Community Relations for Weechi’ittewin, broke down the differences between the two scares.
The soft scare is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m., and the hard scare will be open from 7 to 10 p.m. Special volunteers from the Fort Frances Drama Club always help make the hard scare as spooky as possible for those who dare walk through.
There’s also a kid-friendly trail that’s open from 4-9 p.m. It’s recommended for kids in the 4-7 age range, but anyone can walk any trail. The trails take around 5-8 minutes to walk. The McTavish Haunted Woods are open Wednesday and Thursday at 71 McTavish Road, Lavallee Township.
