Mahnomen School District Looking Several Teaching Positions Ahead of 2022-2023 School Year
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen School District has some challenges ahead when it comes to being fully staff for the 2022-23 school year. During their regular board meeting on Monday night, the board accepted the resignations of a half dozen staff members, most of which were teaching staff. Mahnomen Superintendent Jeff Bisek says a few were retirements, but a number were young teaching staff as well. While its common to lose a few in the spring, Bisek says they’ll have their work cut out trying to fill that many positions in this current competitive market.
Superintendent Bisek notes that filling positions has been a struggle since the beginning of the pandemic, and it isn’t just a problem in the Mahnomen School District.
Resigning from the Mahnomen School were Jenna Bendickson, who has been the Ag teacher for the last 9 years, Natalie Neal, a first year Special Education Teacher, Sandra Haddeland, the Business Teacher for the past 25 years, Paraprofessional Bert Bendickson, Phy Ed Instructor Colton Bakkila, and Elementary Teacher Caitlin Wacker.
