Salem West, Mustard Seed serve families in need
(Deerwood, MN) — Salem WEST and the Mustard Seed, a partner with the Lakes Area United Way, is available to local families in need through their thrift store and the donation center.
We spoke with Jason Kempthorne, a minister at Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood, about their ability to assist families that may struggle with some of the basic needs.
Beyond the Deerwood Community, Salem WEST and Mustard Seed will go to where they need to help families with volunteers that will pack trucks of supplies.
For people that may have household items that they no longer need, donations can be dropped off at Salem WEST in Crosby.
After items are sorted and cleaned, they are taken to the Mustard Seed store and are sold at affordable costs. Kempthorne did also talk about the numerous volunteer opportunities available to help at Salem WEST and the Mustard Seed.
