Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office to Increase Patrol in High Traffic Areas this Weekend

Mahnomen, MN — This Independence Day weekend, the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office will be out and about in lakes country keeping an eye out on the highways and trails. Mahnomen County Sheriff Josh Guenther says you can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence in the high traffic areas patrolling to make sure everyone is making smart decisions.

Sheriff Guenther adds that motorists need to be especially careful around the busy resorts and campgrounds in the area. He says slow down and pay attention.

And the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office has seen a significant increase in ATV and UTV use on the area trails. Just like on the roads, Guenther says there are rules that need to be followed and riders need to keep the speeds down to avoid accidents.

The Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office also asks that if you decide to drink, please line up a sober driver or make plans to stay the night.
