Mahnomen County Fair Gets Underway Today
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen County Fair kicks off its first of two days of good ol’ fashioned fun at the Mahnomen County Fairgrounds. Both days will have food and craft vendors, the 4-H food stand, and bouncy houses up and running from 10am until 8pm. Today features poultry, rabbit, horse, and livestock judging throughout the morning as well as the 4-H premium auction at 4:30pm and Archery Demonstrations at 6pm. And at 7pm in the grandstands, get your motors running for the Demo Derby.
On Saturday, get up early for a free breakfast at the fair from 8:30am until 10:30am and a color run at 9am. Later in the day will be the 4-H Engineering Challenge Demonstrations at 1:30pm, Bean Bag Tournament at 2pm, live music from Eric Reitan from 2-5pm, Rhythm Ride at 4:30pm, and Outdoor movie at dusk. Also, there will be two events in the grandstand on Saturday, highlighted by the Baja racing at noon and Draft Horse pull at 6pm.
Gerri Swiers with the Mahnomen County Ag Society says she hopes the community comes out to support the fair so that they can continue to grow and expand on more events in the future.
Swiers says even without a carnival, there’s still lots of food, fun, and entertainment to be had at the Mahnomen County Fair.
New this year is a beer garden, which opens at 3pm today and Noon on Saturday.
