Representative Kiel Provides a Legislative Update
Crookston, MN —
District 1B Representative Deb Kiel from Crookston joined the KKCQ Food for Thought Program this past week to provide an update on some of the bills she’s working and debating on at the Minnesota State Capitol. There was little activity last week with the winter storm activity in the Twin Cities, but will be heating up this week again. Representative Kiel, who serves on the Human Services Policy Committee, says one bill she’s working on would allow for personal care attendants to transport their clients with disabilities.
One bill that Representative Kiel and fellow Republicans continue to speak out against is the Earned Sick and Safe time bill. She notes that what most don’t realize is that it’s the employers and employees who are ones fronting the bill for the program.
