Ada City Council Approves 4% Levy Increase; Moving Forward with 2023 Sewer Project
Ada, MN — The Ada City Council held their final regular meeting of the 2022 year on Tuesday night, December 6th at Ada Council Chambers. At the meeting they held their annual truth-in taxation hearing and approved the final 2023 tax levy. Ada Mayor John Hintz says the council deliberated between a 4% or 5% increase, but ultimately chose the lesser option.
The city council also approved an increase to the garbage fees. Mayor Hintz says it’s a minor increase but needs to be done to balance out that service.
A big project will be in the works for the City of Ada next year. After some discussion with Moore Engineering, the Ada City Council agreed to move forward a sewer repair project that will cost just over a million dollars. Mayor Hintz says a major selling point was that the city will be able to delay payments until 2025.
And the council joined a number of area cities in drafting an ordinance relating to the sale of THC products in the city of Ada as well.
Councilmembers Josh Mathsen and Shawn Roux are scheduled to join the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program this Thursday at 9am to further recap this week’s meeting.
