Aitkin City Council discusses more on Proposed City Sales Tax during January 17th meeting

The Aitkin City Council met Tuesday, January 17th The Council approved a grant award for the Tank Trail Extension Project and hirings for the Accounting Clerk and Part-Time Liquor Store Clerk positions, as well as various contracts. The Aitkin Area Chamber of Commerce was approved for a Special Event Permit for the Winter Wonderama on February 11th.Administrator Skrbich also led discussion on the Proposed 1% City Sales Tax.

The earliest the City could hold a vote is 2024, after the State Legislature takes a look at it. The Aitkin City Council will next meet on February 7th from the Community Room of the Aitkin Public Library.
