(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin City Council held their second meeting of September on Monday to discuss their next moves over the Tank Trail, parking restrictions, and bids for the Aitkin Police Department roof replacement from the Community Room of the Aitkin Public Library.

City Administrator Mike Skrbich began the meeting with the resolution on agreements for the Tank Trail grant extension and to apply for the IRRRB Regional Trail program.

The Council did approve the Tank Trail Agreement, the Tank Trail Extension Grant Application to Aitkin County in the amount of $20,000, and to Make Application To and Accept Funds from the IRRB Regional rail program. 

Amy Wyant, manager of The Beanery and Gramma’s Pantry on a parking restriction permit for temporary patio and live art installation for a mural on the side of Gramma’s Pantry building on 3rd Street.

The Council approved the Special Event permit, spanning September 22nd to October 16th with the use of orange cones for safety from the Street Department.

Administrator Skrbich presented the quote from Northern Air Plumbing and Heating on a $15,500 quote for the Roof A/C at the Aitkin PD Building.

The bid was approved by the Council. 

The Aitkin City Council will next meet on Monday, October 3rd at 6pm from the Community Room of the Aitkin Public Library.
