Aitkin City Council meeting from Tuesday, September 6th

(Aitkin, MN) — Aitkin City Offices were closed on Monday, September 5th in observance of Labor Day forcing the City Council to hold their meeting on Tuesday. The Council did review a resignation, the 2023 preliminary budget, and provided an update on the Tank Trial among other action items from the Community Room of the Aitkin Public Library.

Mayor Megan Workman did speak on a resignation for the Public Utilities Commission. 

City Administrator Mike Skrbich presented a resolution approving the 2023 Preliminary Budget.

The Council approved the 2023 Preliminary Budget and set the Truth in Taxation Meeting for December 5th. Skrbich also gave an update on fixing the Tank Trail on the southern end of the City of Aitkin.

Mayor Workman presented a change to the Administrator & Department Annual Review Procedure.

The Council approved the change to the resolution. Administrator Skrbich spoke on behalf of the Aitkin Fire Department for the repairs to the Wash Bay Roof.

The Council will review the policy before making a decision on moving forward with roof repairs.

The Aitkin City Council will hold their next meeting on Monday, September 20th at 6pm from the Community Room of the Aitkin Public Library.
