Aitkin County Board meeting from Tuesday, March 14th
The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday.
The Board approved the Consent Agenda including equipment purchases of a mower and pickup truck, a donation to Search and Rescue from White Pine Township, 2022 annual Apportionment of Forfeited Tax Sales, and 2023 Tobacco License Renewal Applications.
Minnesota Power presented about their work with Great River Energy on the Northland Reliability Project.
The project is still in the Public Engagement and Routing Phase. The completion is slated by 2030.
The County Engineer presented a contract award for a reconstruction project of 3.2 miles of Aitkin County Highway 11, and grant funding from Local Road Improvement Program, Local Bridge Replacement Program, and Surface Transportation Block Grants totaling over 3 million dollars.
The Land Commissioner spoke about a letter of support for the Northern Waters Land Trust to submit a grant proposal to the Outdoor Heritage Fund to acquire lands.
Approval was also given for a Transformative Learning Institute Contract for strategic planning services, development of a continuous revitalization system, and change-leadership workshops.
The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners will hold their next regular meeting, which includes their monthly update with Health and Human Services, on Tuesday, March 28th beginning at 9am in the Government Center Board Room.
