Aitkin County Board meeting set for February 14th

The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners held their regular meeting on Tuesday. They approved consumption & display permits, a fire protection contract with McGrath, and the April 25 date for the public hearing for land classification. The commissioners were presented with information from the Rural Policy Alliance about rural economic development and from the economic development  coordinator about a DEED grant fro county childcare initiatives. Board members approved a contract for medical services for the county jail, a request for Fiscal Recovery Funds & a federal recreational grant for ski trails grooming equipment, the purchase of a fuel tank for the McGregor maintenance facility, and a bid for the Palisade cold storage building. The Board will have their next regular meeting on February 28th in the Government Center Board room.
