Aitkin County Board of Commissioners meeting from September 27th
(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners held their second regular meeting of September last week with review and adoption of the 2023 Preliminary Budget taking a majority of the time.
During the meeting, the Board approved 2023 Legislative Priorities, donations to the Veterans Service Office and Search and Rescue, MCCU Repurchase Tax-Forfeited Property, and donation to Sentence to Serve from the Lakes and Woods Garden Club.
Economic Development Coordinator Mark Jeffers spoke to Commissioners on the Communications Project with public meetings to be held this Fall.
County Engineer John Welle was on hand to award a contract to Marvin Tretter, Inc of Pierz for work on the Tank Trail.
Welle also presented the 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan.
Commissioners heard from Land Commissioner Dennis Thompson and set the Tax Forfeited Land Sale for December 2nd, 2022 at 1pm from the Government Center Board Room.
Approval was also given for 2023 MRC Legislative Priorities and the 2023 Preliminary Budget ar 5.68% levy increase in the amount of $16,945,046. The 2023 Budget Public Hearing Date will be following the regular board meeting on December 13th at 6:05pm in the Government Center Board Room.
The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners will next meet on Tuesday, October 11th at 9am from the Aitkin County Government Center Board Room.
