There’s plenty to celebrate at Bagley High School after Saturday’s One Act Play Section Championship in Baudette, MN! Their play, entitled “The Chair Play” by Alan Haehnel, received a perfect 1-1-1 score from the judges, clearing the way for them to take home the section championship.

The play is a metaphorical look at what human beings want, gain, take, deserve or are willing to fight for. Under the leadership of director Marilyn Hood, the cast will now travel to St. Paul to attend the Minnesota State High School League One Act Play Festival this Thursday and Friday at the O’Shaughnessy Auditorium on the campus of St. Catherine University. This is Bagley’s sixth consecutive state appearance and tenth trip overall.

Crookston High School placed second with their show “# Censored” directed by Beth Carlson, and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley High School’s play “Six Characters in Search of an Author” placed third. Other schools competing on Saturday in Baudette were Roseau, East Grand Forks, Red Lake Falls, Greenbush-Middle River, and Tri-County Central.
