City of Ada Not Bluffing When It Comes to Towing Vehicles for Snow Removal

Ada, MN — During last week’s multi-day winter storm, the City of Ada proved that they weren’t bluffing when it comes to towing vehicles. Roughly 18 cars, pickups, and trailers were towed at the owner’s expense after the city issued a snow emergency and gave residents 12 hours notice to move their vehicles off of the city streets so that public works crews could properly clean the streets. Ada City Administrator Ashley Larson says they’d prefer not to tow the vehicles, but there are several reasons why they need vehicles off the streets for snow emergencies.

And with more snow and blowing snow in the forecast, the City of Ada will continue to cite and tow vehicles if they are not moved off the street within 12 hours of declaring a snow emergency or 24 hours after a normal snow event, according to Ada Police Chief Steve Hagar.
