Drag Storytime at the Fort Frances Library!
Over in the Fort France Library, starting at 10:15am, there’s gonna be a Drag Storytime with special guest Pharoah Moans coming to read some books to children. We had the opportunity to talk to Brittany Renaud of the Fort Frances Library about the event.
She was asked if the library does these Drag Storytimes annually.
So then is there hope to do these events more often?
Brittany Renaud is the person in charge of the children’s events at the library as she tells us,
We even had the opportunity to talk to Pharoah Moans themself about the Drag Storytime who was very excited to talk about the event.
Pharoah is a Drag Queen who has been doing these events for quite some time as they tell us.
We then asked them about their previous appearance in Fort Frances for a storytime.
So Brittany was asked about the importance of these pride events at the library.
And Pharoah was in agreeance.
So how did they decide on the books for the storytime?
Pharoah also tells us some more about the books them and Brittany will be reading.
We then talks a little about Grandad’s Camper and the significance of it being about an older/elder Queer person as most LGBTQ+ media features younger protagonists.
Brittany Renaud makes sure to let us know of the many other events coming up at the Fort Frances Library.
With some extra emphasis on this storytime being a more lowkey event in contrast to an event featuring a conga line.
Meanwhile, Pharoah Moans had been a road warrior this month.
So here’s some more encouragement from Pharoah to attend the library event.
The Drag Storytime takes place June 19th at 10:15am at the Fort Frances Library and Tech Center.
