Dustin Flaten Offered Superintendent Position at Ulen-Hitterdal
Ulen, MN — Norman County East High School Principal Dustin Flaten appears to be heading back to the Ulen-Hitterdal School District, but this time as the new District Superintendent. According to the current Interim Superintendent Todd Cameron, Flaten has been offered and verbally accepted the position this week. The Ulen-Hitterdal School Board will negotiate the details of the contract this Friday and will have a special meeting to accept the contract on March 31st. Flaten is currently the K-12 Principal at Norman County East, but previously was an elementary teacher at Ulen-Hitterdal.
The Ulen-Hitterdal School Board originally hired Ryan Baron from the Tri-County School District as their Superintendent in the spring of 2021 following the retirement of Cameron, but Baron was placed on administrative leave following a trespassing incident in the fall of 2021 at his previous district and resigned from the district in February.
