Farm Safety & Wellness Seminar Planned for this Wednesday in Ada
Ada, MN — REACH, the Minnesota Department of Ag, and RDO are inviting farmers and ranchers to a Farm Safety & Wellness Seminar this Wednesday, January 25th at the Ada Events Center. The seminar will feature hands on safety demonstrations, education, and resources on the many farm dangers and health concerns, according to Farm Safety Speaker Dawn Chisholm and Agricultural Mental Health Provider Monica McConkey.
The Farm Safety and Wellness Seminar will get underway at 10am and wrap up by 2pm. However, don’t expect to be stuck sitting in an uncomfortable chair all day. Peggie Chisholm, Representative for REACH, says participants will be shuffling from station to station for up close and personal information and demonstrations.
McConkey, who provides free mental health counseling and services to the farmers through the Minnesota Department of Ag, says many of the accidents that occur on the farm can be tied to mental health and stress.
This event is free, and no preregistration is required. Another Farm Safety & Wellness Seminar is planned for Wednesday, February 15th at RDO in Hawley.
