Fosston, MN — Today is Giving Hearts Day and the First Care Medical Services Foundation is encouraging community members to show their support during this day of giving. In fact, Giving Hearts Days is the largest, single day of giving in North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota, raising more than $112 million for local charities since being founded in 2008.
The mission of the First Care Medical Services Foundation, based out of Fosston, is to help provide solid ground for our health care future and make a healthy difference in people’s lives, as well as to support the health care needs for Fosston and the surrounding area.
Evan Fonder of the First Care Foundation talks more about the history of Giving Hearts Day and its impact.
Thanks to the matching support of a handful of local businesses and organizations, Fonder says this year your donation to First Care Foundation on Giving Hearts Day will go even farther.
In previous years, the First Care Foundation has raised money for material items such a helipad, x-ray systems, and other medical needs. This year, however, there focusing their efforts on recruiting new providers to community.
Fonder says by having medical doctors who work exclusively in your community, it adds comfort and consistency to your medical needs.
