Fosston Robotics Team Headed to Nationals
The Fosston VEX Robotics Team won the Championship this last weekend in St Cloud. The team was competing against 46 other teams and managed to take 1st place, earning them a ticket to the State Competition as well as Worlds. Team Captain Christian Olson explains what a Robotics competition typically looks like:
Christian and the rest of his team mates have over 100 hours already into their robot build. The team is passionate about not only going to Nationals, but taking Worlds as well.
The Fosston team; coached by James Manecke, had 5 wins and only 1 loss going into the qualifying round which ranked them 6th overall. They managed to pull off 2 victories in the playoffs and advance to the finals. The won the championship round with a score of 150-118. The win opens up an invitation to State Robotics in March as well as the U.S. Open Tournament in Council Bluffs Iowa. The team ultimately hopes to earn a ticket to Worlds which is held in Texas in April.
