Grand Forks’ Jerzee Rosinski wheels her way to first Sprint Car victory

16-year-old Jerzee Rosinski is no stranger to victory lane in the Grand Forks go-karting world. After dominant karting seasons she’s set her sights on the sprint car class. Rosinski shares what’s driven her passion for racing for so many years.

On Friday, August 1st Rosinski drew pole position for her heat race, finishing 2nd. This gave her good track position for the feature on outside pole where she gained the lead and controlled the first half of the race. With less than 10 laps to go she caught lapped traffic, stunting progress long enough for Brandon Rekow and Dylan Waxdahl to close within a half second. Rosinski did finally dispose of the lapped traffic, but a late race caution bunched the field together again providing another hill to climb.

Rosinski’s victory caught many by surprise as she entered the race with 0 Top 5 finishes at Red River Valley Speedway in 3 prior features this year. She also outdueled Brandon Rekow and Tye Wilke, the top two in the points to secure her first win. Rosinski speaks to the remaining goals she has for the year.
