Hillsboro City Commission News & Notes from July 18th Meeting
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro City Commission held their 2nd regular monthly meeting on Monday night at the Main Street Community Center. At the meeting, the winner of the Hillsboro mural contest was announced. Commission President Levi Reese says the winner has had experience with painting murals in the past and they will work with her to get her design painted on the south wall of the community center.
In other business items, the commission had some preliminary budget discussions. President Reese says they need to have a budget complete by next month, so they need to take a look at future expenses and needs for the city.
The Hillsboro City Commission also approved a letter of intent with Traill County to conduct property assessments on the entire city, according to Reese.
And Reese noted that they are still looking for a member of the public to join their Special Assessment Committee.
There was also some further discussion and clarification on Monday night regarding their façade grants to avoid any further confusion down the road as to what qualifies for the grant.
The Hillsboro City Commission also had their final reading of the patio liquor license ordinances.
