Hillsboro City Commission News & Notes from March 7th Meeting
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro City Commission held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 7th at the Hillsboro Community Center where they discussed building incentives, a public works opening, community surveys and more.
The commission learned this week that the legislature has increased the amount of housing incentives the cities can offer to new home builders. Hillsboro City Commission President Terry Sando also reminded citizens that those incentives apply to new homes built anywhere in the city, and not just their developments.
At the end of the meeting during the Public Input portion, a citizen voiced their concerns over a question on a survey sent out to community members that may have led them to believe the city was planning on purchasing the former Wells Fargo building to convert into city hall. Sando says they addressed that concern and look forward to seeing additional responses from the survey.
Also at this week’s meeting, the commission approved an extension for the owner of the Chicken Scratch Bakery to remove her belongings.
And under the Public Works report, President Sando says they continued discussions about power outage alerts and the open position in the department.
And Sando reminds residents that there will be a public meeting on March 22nd at 6:30pm at the Hillsboro Community Center to discuss the upcoming paving project. Listen to the full recap with Terry Sando below:
