Hillsboro School Board News & Notes from April 14th Meeting
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, April 14th. At the meeting, the board received a report on their E-sports program from E-Sports Coach Logan McCallister. Hillsboro Superintendent Paula Suda says this relatively new offering for the district is showing great signs of success and is becoming popular with students.
The board also had some facility discussions this week as they continue planning for potential renovations or even building a new school. Superintendent Suda says they set up a meeting with Icon Architects to review their facility assessment and are working on setting up a new committee.
The Hillsboro School Board is also eyeing a number of other small projects this summer, including updating their concessions stands and updating a sound system, according to Suda.
The Hillsboro School Board also approved purchase of 140 new Chromebooks, accepted the resignations of 5th grade teacher Erin Risovi and Wrestling Coach Trace Brakke, and approved hiring Elementary Strategist Lorinda Ingralbetson, 4th grade Teacher Emma Kroshus, and 5th grade Teacher Morgan Hewitt.
The board meets next for a Special Meeting on April 27th at 8am to review their Facilities Assessment with ICON Architects.
