When it comes to great causes, the Hoops for Hope basketball tournament is a slam dunk for the whole family! Hoops For Hope Founder Jason Brumwell joined James Cardarelli on KKCQ’s Food for Thought Program to discuss the upcoming tournament, including some of the history behind the tournament.

Brumwell and Hoops for Hope want to make sure that all of the funds raised go toward cancer research, which is one of the reasons why they partnered with The V Foundation.

Basketball has always been important in the Brumwell family, including his mother, Diane, who passed away shortly after the inaugeral tournament in 2006.

Brumwell knows his mother would be proud with the turnout every year, including kids bringing their own piggybanks!

Since it’s start in 2006, the Hoops for Hope Foundation has raised over $580,000 with over 20 men’s and women’s teams participating annually. To find out more about how you can donate, silent auction items, and more about The Hoops for Hope Foundation, click here.
