Independence Day Weekend reminders

Independence Day weekend is fast approaching, and Norman-Mahnomen Public Health is sharing some health reminders, for those who will be celebrating. Tammy Carlsrud of Norman-Mahnomen Public Health says if you’re going to be spending the holiday weekend outside, you should be protecting your skin from the sun. 

Minnesota’s lakes are also expected to be full this weekend and Carlsrud, as well as Tianna McKeever say that people need to be wearing lifejackets and taking extra precaution when on the water. 

Minnesota law requires lifejackets for all boaters and passengers on Minnesota lakes and rivers. For more information on boat safety, go to the Minnesota DNR website dnr.state.mn.us.
