It’s Small Town Saturday this Saturday in Climax
Climax, MN — Small Town Fun with a Big Heart is a best way to describe the annual Small Town Saturday in Climax, MN. It offers the many great small town festivities and food that you would hope for, including a parade, car show, tractor pull, evening meal, bouncy games, and flea market. It all gets underway this Saturday, June 4th with a bike, hike, and run at the Log Cabin and the small town flea market at the Climax Community Center at 9am. Then at Noon, the parade and kiddie parade will get rolling, which will be emceed by R & J Broadcasting’s own Kevin Kochmann, according Small Town Saturday volunteer Jean Vatsndal.
Following the parade, the car show will get underway at around 12:30pm until 4pm on Main Street and the Northern Pullers tractor pull will begin around 1pm south of the post office,
The kids should stay plenty busy throughout the day as well. Vatsndal says there will be a dunk tank, bouncy house, fire truck rides, and more to keep them entertained.
A number of food options will be available during the day. The 4-H will be serving up Taco-in-a-Bag, cotton candy, and rootbeer floats, Climax Parish Youth will be cooking hamburgers and hot dogs, the Corner Café will have BBQ’s and potato salad, Climax Yearbook will be selling homemade bars, lemonade, and coffee, Keith’s Cookout will be cooking pork loin and hot dogs, and Ohana Shaved Ice will be on hand as well.
And as the evening winds down, Vatsndal welcomes all for special music from the O’Neil Family, an evening meal, and socializing.
Vatsndal says what makes Small Town Saturday special is that its an event put on by the community, for the community.
Small Town Saturday is sponsored by the Sandhill Settlement Historical Society, Climax Community Club, and the City of Climax.
