Legislature Approves Post 9/11 Service Bonuses
St. Paul, MN — One of the first bills passed by the Minnesota Legislature this session will help give a boost Minnesota Veterans, and specifically post 9/11 veterans and Gold Star families. The legislature has appropriated $24 million towards service bonuses for those post 9/11 veterans and depending on their level of service, could receive up to $2,000, according to John Rosenberger of Norman County Veterans Services.
In order to be eligible for the service bonus, Rosenberger says Veterans must provide proof of service, proof of Minnesota residency while they served, and proof of current Minnesota residency.
The application process for the service bonuses is expected to open July 1st. For more information or questions about eligibility, contact your local Veterans Service Officer.
