Mahnomen School Board News & Notes from April 11th Meeting
Mahnomen, MN — More news and notes from last week’s Mahnomen School Board meeting.
The board recently reviewed and discussed a report from their Native American Parent Committee, who presented recommendations to the district for programming and other changes they would like to see be made. Mahnomen Superintendent Jeff Bisek says the board needed more clarification on some of their recommendations before taking an action.
The Mahnomen School Board also revisited discussions about their failed referendum vote earlier this winter. Bisek says community members should be on the lookout for a survey sometime soon as the board is looking to find out the reasons why it may have failed.
Some good news regarding health insurance rates for Mahnomen staff. Bisek says despite many area districts reporting big increases, their rates will stay the same.
And the school board once again their annual K-9 contract for locker searches.
The Mahnomen School Board also approved their 2022-23 School Calendar.
