(McGregor, MN) — The McGregor School Board held their monthly meeting Monday night to review annual and personnel contracts from the High School Auditorium.
To begin the meeting, Todd Richter from Nexus, which is incharge of the District’s Referendum Building project, gave an update on the project of starting the remodeling of the Bus Garage.
Superintendent and Elementary Principal Brad Johnson updated the Board on Summer School activity.
Business Manager Shauna Dlachow opened talks on the District continuing to support the BARR General Fund.
The Board moved to continue supporting the BARR General Fund up to $20,000, with the District already having supported just over $17,000 in the Fund. Talks were also held on the future for the K-3 Fresh Fruit and Vegetables program.
A motion to discontinue the program was made but did not receive approval due to lack of support.
The McGregor School did accept donations totaling $16,046 from the MacGregor Lions Club, Minnewawa Sportsmen’s Club, Turner Township, and VFW Post 2747. Approval was also given for the breakfast and lunch prices for the 2022-23 school year, and the resolution mending the District’s Flexible Benefits Plan, the Specific Services Contract ARCC.
Personnel items including the hiring of Erin Wagner as high school science teacher, Mike Jackson as part-time lawn mower, the retirement of Suzanne Frederickson as a member of the kitchen staff, and the resignation of Clara Pawlak as an elementary paraprofessional were approved by the Board.
The McGregor School Board is next scheduled to meet for a Work Session on July 11th with their next regular board meeting set for July 25th. Both meetings are set for 6pm.
