Minnesota Council on Disability March 14th Legislative Forum Recap

The Minnesota Council Disability (MCD) will held its Legislative Forum on Friday, March 14. MCD facilitates this event to connect the community with policymakers. To inform us on what was discussed in the forum, we reached out to David Dively of the MCD.

As Minnesota’s lead agency advocating for disability rights, MCD’s Legislative Forum provides a unique format for members of the disability community and their allies to interact directly with lawmakers to advance disability rights and shape state policies.

The Forum sessions will address important issues, including transportation, healthcare, human rights, and community integration.

Anticipated Forum participants include state legislators, elected officials, members of the disability community, advocates, and MCD council members.

MCD focuses on advancing rights for Minnesotans with disabilities and aims to remove barriers, protect essential services, and promote policies that ensure people with disabilities can live independently and thrive in their communities.
