Minnesota Deer Hunting-CWD
ST PAUL, MN—The Minnesota DNR says there will be two additional zones where chronic wasting disease, or CWD, has been found in the state. DNR wildlife health specialist Erik Hildebrand says both are in northern Minnesota.
Deer hunters in Minnesota will need to remember to turn in a CWD sample of any deer they catch during the opening weekend of the firearms deer season November 5 and 6. Hildebrand explains how to get your deer tested.
Any deer harvested that’s one year old or older will have to be tested for CWD. There’s more information online at mndnr.gov/CWD.
